Confirming a long-awaited move Tuesday, Hubbard Radio officially promoted Lisa Kosty to midday personality at adult contemporary WSHE FM 100.3.

Kosty has been filling in from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays since last October, when Megan Reed went on extended medical leave. Reed left the company earlier this year.

A native of Colonia, New Jersey, and graduate of Saint Mary’s College, Kosty joined the station as a weekend and fill-in host in 2014 after nine years as morning show producer and public-affairs show host at CBS Radio country WUSN FM 99.5. She previously hosted mornings at WBYT in South Bend, Indiana.

“We’d like to thank Lisa Kosty for the wonderful work she has done filling in during middays on WSHE,” program director Marty Bender and Hubbard Radio senior vice president of programming Greg Solk wrote in a memo to staff Tuesday.

“We’d now like to congratulate her on being officially named the full-time midday host here at WSHE,” they wrote, adding: “You can now all skip over the always awkward introducing yourself part with a new hire and simply go congratulate her as you already known when she is here and where you can find her.”

In the latest Nielsen Audio survey, WSHE ranked 11th in middays with a 3.2 percent share and cumulative weekly audience of 438,900. Among women between 25 and 54, the station ranked second in middays with a 6.9 share and 157,200 cume.

Reed announced last fall she was stepping aside while battling cancer and preparing to undergo brain surgery. Colleagues feted Reed, a 28-year veteran of Chicago radio, at a luncheon last April when she returned to the station for a visit.
