The newest team in Chicago’s sports-talk game will take the field Sunday on CLTV.

Set to kick off on the Tribune Media cable news channel is “Sports Feed,” a live sports talk show hosted by Jarrett Payton and Josh Frydman, airing from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Practice runs are under way this week leading up to Sunday's debut.

Payton is a weekend sports talk show host on Tribune Media news/talk WGN AM 720 and son of the late Chicago Bears legend Walter Payton. Before becoming a sportscaster, Payton played football for the University of Miami and the NFL Tennessee Titans, among others.

Frydman, a sports producer at Tribune Media WGN-Channel 9 and former sports anchor and reporter for CBS affiliate KFVS-TV in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, grew up in suburban Buffalo Grove and graduated from Stevenson High School and the University of Missouri.

Jennifer Lyons, news director of WGN and CLTV, said the new show would feature Payton and Frydman providing sports highlights and game analysis along with social media interaction with viewers. Describing the format as “a little bit of highlights, a little bit of analysis and a little bit of fun,” Lyons said it also would serve to “showcase all the great teams we air on WGN and CLTV.”

To accommodate the addition of “Sports Feed,” CLTV this week shifted Paul Lisnek’s “Politics Tonight” one hour earlier — to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The half-hour show continues to replay at 9:30 p.m. each night.

Starting this week, Lisnek has added a new viewer feedback segment to the show called “Political Pulse.”

“We’re excited to have ‘Politics Tonight’ move to the new time as we’re headed into an election year,” Lyons added.
