Robb Rose, a part-time weekend host on WILV FM 100.3 from 2009 until earlier this year, is returning to the Hubbard Radio adult contemporary station as evening personality.
Rose succeeds Cara Carriveau, who was promoted to afternoons on “Chicago’s 100.3” last month. After filling in for Carriveau this week, he officially takes over from 7 p.m. to midnight Monday through Friday on August 11.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Hubbard Chicago family on a full-time basis and to be part of the best station in Chicago,” Rose said in a statement Monday. “Big thanks to [Hubbard Radio senior vice president of programming] Greg Solk and [program director] Marty Bender for the opportunity to get back to my sweet home Chicago.”
A Chicago native and graduate of Columbia College, Rose began as an intern at CBS Radio rhythmic Top 40 WBBM FM 96.3. He most recently worked in Springfield as operations director of Saga Communications’ six-station group and morning personality at WLFZ.
Here is the text of Bender’s memo to the staff:
Greg and I are excited to welcomes Robb Rose as our new evening personality at Chicago’s 100.3. Robb has over 25 years of on-air experience along with various tenures as an Operations Director, Program Director, Promotions Director and radio instructor.
We set the bar pretty high with this particular hire. We were looking for someone with an overall great radio background and had on-air experience in all the key dayparts. Thus, he will be handling all the key weekday fulltime fill-ins.
Robb comes last from Saga Communications in Springfield where he was Operations Director over six stations as well as morning personality at WLFZ-FM.
You might recognize Robb’s name and voice already. He has actually been a weekend personality at WILV off and on since 2009. Robb even “commuted” here to work weekends and fill-ins while he was living downstate.
Robb starts officially today as he will be filling in all this week for Cara. He will begin doing his 7p-midnight show next week.
We welcome a full-time Robb Rose this week to the Chicago Hubbard family and team.
