Shila Nathan, a former morning co-host at two stations in Philadelphia, has been named afternoon personality at WUSN FM 99.5, the CBS Radio country music station.

Starting April 18, she succeeds Drew Walker, who shifted to middays at US 99.5 last January. Since then, weekend host Ryan McKiddy had been filling in from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Nathan most recently has been working part-time for two stations in her native Scranton, Pennsylvania — WGGY and WKRZ. Before that, she co-hosted mornings at two Philadelphia stations — WYSP (where she worked with Danny Bonaduce) and WRDW (where she worked with former Q101 morning co-host Steve Tingle).

Nathan also appeared regularly on "Good Day Philadelphia” on Fox-owned WTXF-TV, where she discussed relationships and other topics.

“I have had my eye on Shila for a few years and I’m very excited to have her join the air staff at US 99.5,” program director Jeff Kapugi said in a statement. “She’s a very dynamic personality that brings a fresh approach to afternoon drive in Chicago.”

Nathan, who graduated from Villanova University and Emerson College, began in radio in 2005 at WKRZ in Scranton and also worked at WKRK in Detroit.

“I’m so excited to be doing afternoon drive on @US995 in the Windy City!” Nathan tweeted Wednesday. “Thank you @jeffkapugi and everyone at CBS!”

In the latest Nielsen Audio survey, US 99.5 ranked seventh in afternoons with a 4.1 percent share overall and a cumulative weekly audience of 631,400.
