Sweet sendoff for Stylz & Roman in B96 afternoon ratings

Justin Roman and Doug Stylz

Justin Roman and Doug Stylz

As Doug Stylz and Justin Roman are headed to new roles as country music morning hosts, they wrapped up 10 years as a Top 40 afternoon duo with more than one million loyal listeners in the Chicago area.

Nielsen Audio ratings released Monday showed Stylz and Roman’s afternoon show on CBS Radio Top 40 WBBM FM 96.3 in sixth place overall with a 3.9 percent share and a cumulative weekly audience of 1,021,700. Their last show on B96 aired August 12 — two days after the latest ratings survey concluded.

Starting September 6, they’ll turn up as the new morning team on CBS Radio country WUSN FM 99.5, succeeding Lisa Dent and Ramblin’ Ray Stevens. Just before the station rebranded itself “US 99 Chicago’s Hottest Country,” mornings tied for 11th place with a 2.7 share and 374,900 weekly cume.

Stylz (whose real name is Doug Bobrowski) and Roman are lifelong Chicagoans who both started as promotion interns at B96 before they were teamed as evening co-hosts in 2004. Two years later they moved up to afternoon drive. Their replacement in afternoons at B96 is Eric Tyler, who recently joined the station as evening host.

“Thanks to every single one of you for supporting us the past 12 years!” the duo told fans on Facebook. “B96 will forever be in our hearts. That being said, we are SO excited for this new chapter of Stylz & Roman as the US 99 Chicago's Hottest Country Morning Show starting on Tuesday, Sept. 6th! Hope to see you guys there.”
