A morning show producer for CBS Radio country WUSN FM 99.5 is moving up to evening personality at Hubbard Radio hot adult-contemporary WTMX FM 101.9.

Switching companies and changing formats is Chris Reese, who’s been executive producer of US 99.5’s morning show, hosted by Lisa Dent and Ramblin’ Ray Stevens.

Starting March 7, Reese (as he’ll be known on the air) will host from 7 p.m. to midnight Monday through Friday on The Mix. He succeeds Andrew “Finnigan” Hart, who left last June for KOIT in San Francisco.

“The Mix has found our next new night star working in the next building over,” program director Mary Ellen Kachinske said in a statement. “We can’t wait for Reese to bring his fresh sound and unique skills to The Mix to resonate with Chicago’s nighttime landscape.”

A native of northwest suburban Arlington Heights and graduate of the Illinois Center for Broadcasting, Reese has been working on the US 99.5 morning show for seven years. He also has voice-tracked overnights for the station.

In the latest Nielsen Audio survey, The Mix tied for eighth place in evenings with a 3.8 percent share and cumulative weekly audience of 469,700.

Here is the text of the staff memo announcing Reese’s hiring:

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with everyone, as we welcome our new evening personality “Reese” to The Mix.

“Reese” (as he will be known to all on the air) is Chris Reese, who has spent the last 7 years as the morning show producer at WUSN. Chris is a local lad who grew up in Arlington Heights and graduated from the Illinois Center for Broadcasting in 2008. Chris and his wife Jessica live on the northwest side. Chris is expected to hit the air on Monday, March 7th.

A special thanks to our very talented part-timers, who held down the night shift for these past few months—Dave, Dana, Jon and an extra special thanks to Clay and Stephanie for all of their hours logged on the air. You all did terrific work!

Welcome “Reese”!
