Andrew Hart, the evening host known as “Finnigan” on Hubbard Radio hot adult-contemporary WTMX FM 101.9, is headed for San Francisco.

Hart, who announced his resignation Friday after three years at The Mix, will be leaving at the end of this week to host mornings at KOIT, an Entercom Communications adult contemporary station in San Francisco.

“To say that the people I have met and had the chance to work with in Chicago are first class, is an understatement,” Hart told Facebook followers. “My best memories have been made right here in this city and it’s impossible to describe my experiences.”

Until a replacement is named, part-time staffers will fill in from 7 p.m. to midnight Monday through Friday on The Mix.

A native of Benton, Illinois, Hart joined The Mix in 2012 after four years as a part-timer at former Clear Channel stations, including Top 40 WKSC FM 103.5.

In the latest Nielsen Audio survey, evenings on The Mix tied for fourth place with a 4.6 percent share and cumulative weekly audience of 630,100. Among women between 25 and 54, it ranked second with a 7.1 share and 232,800 cume.

Here is the text of Hubbard Radio Chicago’s memo to staff Friday:

About 3 years ago we were fortunate to bring on a go-getter to host the evening show on THE MIX. Andrew “Finnigan” Hart has excelled on THE MIX, in the past year, averaging #1 with Women 25 -54 and ranking in the Top 4 with Adults 25-54. He also showcased his unique flair on video with “Finnigan’s Finds” as well as on site at Lollapalooza and with many artist interviews.

We knew it was just a matter of time before his vast talents were going to be noticed beyond Chicago and, sadly for us, they have been. Finnigan will be leaving THE MIX for an amazing Morning Drive opportunity on the west coast at the end of next week. Finnigan’s last duties for us will be filling in for Koz next week so please stop by and wish him well.

Congratulations Andrew, we wish you the best!
