Robin Robinson signed off Monday after 27 years at WFLD-Channel 32.

Her final story on the Fox-owned station’s 9 p.m. newscast examined changing attitudes about prostitution. “Maybe it’s fitting that this is my last report here on Fox 32 News because it kind of proves the power of knowledge and new information,” Robinson told viewers. “Because that is what all the journalists here hope to achieve.”

Before her demotion last November, Robinson had been main news anchor of Fox 32’s prime time newscast since it was launched in August 1987.

Robinson, who turns 57 next week, said her immediate plans include developing a pilot mini-series of hourlong shows with WYCC-Channel 20, the public television station operated by City Colleges of Chicago. Her first subject is hip hop star, actor, author and activist Common and his mother.
