Readers of the Sun-Times who thought they were experiencing deja vu Monday were just getting a second dose of the same comics.

Monday’s edition of the paper carried the same comics as Saturday’s. Both sets were dated May 5.

“Fortunately LuAnn's prom is over, but Arlo & Janis could be having a deep philosophical discussion right now,” reader Ron Smith wrote on Facebook.

Jim Kirk, publisher and editor-in-chief of the Sun-Times, attributed the mistake to a production error. He said Tuesday’s edition would run two complete set of comics.

"We apologize to our readers who were inconvenienced,” Kirk said.
