Chicago film critic Brian Tallerico, editor of Magill's Cinema Annual and a regular guest on news/talk WGN AM 720, has been named content editor of RogerEbert.com, the movie-review website and digital repository of the late film critic’s work.

Tallerico, who reports to New York-based editor-in-chief Matt Zoller Seitz, succeeds Hank Sartin, who stepped down as managing editor earlier this month to join the Department of Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago.

Chaz Ebert, CEO of Ebert Digital LLC and publisher of the website, said in a statement: “Brian’s diverse interests and expertise lend exactly the kind of texture that defines RogerEbert.com. He will draw from a deep well as he helps to curate the passionate conversation on film.”

Former content director of HollywoodChicago.com, Tallerico joined RogerEbert.com as a writer/contributor last year and was named assistant editor in February. He continues as vice president of the Chicago Film Critics Association.

“Having grown up learning about the art of film analysis by devouring Roger Ebert’s Movie Yearbooks, I couldn’t be happier to be an editor on the site that bears his name, helping Chaz to promote her vision of Roger's legacy,” Tallerico said in a statement.
