Manley joins WGN as VP creative content

In a key behind-scenes hire at WGN AM 720, Todd Manley has been named vice president of creative content. He joins the Tribune Broadcasting news/talk station Monday.

Manley most recently was director of creative content at CBS Radio adult rock WXRT FM 93.1.

It's a return to WGN for Manley, who spent 10 years at the station, starting as production/imaging director in 1998 and moving up to creative director in 2004. He left in 2008 for KTRS in St. Louis, where he doubled as program director and brand manager. Manley previously worked in Chicago at the former WCKG and WPNT.

"We're excited to bring him back," Jimmy deCastro, president and general manager of WGN, said in confirming the move Wednesday. Manley will play a key role in shaping the station's sound and in spearheading special projects.
